Key Responsibilities:

Backup Management
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level backup solutions.
- Administer and support backup tools such as Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault, or similar.
- Monitor daily backup jobs and ensure successful completion.
- Troubleshoot failed backups and perform root cause analysis.
- Perform periodic backup validation and recovery testing.

CRS (Cloud Recovery Services) / Disaster Recovery
- Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions (DRaaS, cloud replication, failover/failback).
- Configure and maintain DR environments on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Develop and maintain DR plans, runbooks, and procedures.
- Execute DR drills and ensure compliance with RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective).
- Support business continuity planning initiatives.

System Administration & Monitoring
- Maintain backup infrastructure including storage systems, repositories, and agents.
- Ensure optimal utilization of storage resources and manage capacity planning.
- Monitor system performance and generate reports on backup/DR health.
- Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates.

Security & Compliance
- Implement backup encryption, access control, and security best practices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain audit logs and reports related to data protection.

Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with infrastructure, network, and application teams.
- Provide L2/L3 support for backup and DR-related incidents.
- Participate in change management and release processes.
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills
- Strong experience with backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup).
- Hands-on experience with cloud recovery solutions (Azure Site Recovery, AWS Backup, etc.).
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with Windows & Linux server administration.
- Understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object storage).
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.

Conceptual Knowledge
- Solid understanding of RPO, RTO, DR strategies, data lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of data protection, encryption, and security practices.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience:
3–7 years of experience in backup, storage, or disaster recovery roles. Experience in enterprise IT environments is preferred.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Preferred certifications include:
- Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
- Azure/AWS Cloud Certifications
- Veritas or Commvault certifications

- Backup success rate and job completion.
- Recovery success and DR drill performance.
- Compliance with RPO/RTO targets.
- Incident resolution time.
- System uptime and availability.
Optional (Nice-to-Have):
- Experience with automation and DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks.
