Amazon is seeking an employee benefits manager to join our MEA (Middle East and Africa) Benefits team in Dubai, UAE. This role will partner extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners on the strategy, design, and delivery of employee benefits. The ideal candidate should have industry experience in managing multi-country benefit programs and in leading teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Benefit Management and Design: Develop benefit program proposals that align with Amazon’s Global Benefits Strategy and comply with country-specific statutory requirements and market practices.
  • Implementation: Oversee all activities for the implementation of approved benefit programs, including selecting and setting up benefit providers, creating project plans, assembling resources, and documenting processes and policies.
  • Governance: Ensure that programs align with Amazon’s benefit philosophy and meet local regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring costs, financial impact, future funding needs, and competitiveness.
  • Expansion Program Management: Act as a subject matter expert for expansion activities, including establishing new entities and implementing global programs in your countries.
  • Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor to the International Compensation and Benefits team, local HR, payroll, and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery of all benefit programs and initiatives.
  • Communication and Influence: Effectively communicate the value of benefits programs and make recommendations for enhancements, influencing stakeholders to gain buy-in and approvals.
  • Vendor Management: Recommend standards for vendor performance and maintain performance by identifying and addressing any issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with additional qualifications in business, finance, HR, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in global benefits development, administration, and governance.
  • 8+ years of experience in employee benefit plan design, including healthcare, worker’s compensation, and pension schemes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale global employee benefit plan programs.
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple critical projects concurrently.
  • Proven abilities in vendor management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers.

This role involves periodic global travel and is ideal for candidates who are organized, analytical, and thrive in a dynamic environment while developing and improving programs and service delivery.
