As a Big Data Engineer at the company, you will leverage your understanding of big data technologies and coding expertise to provide technical leadership within the team. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality code, developing services and solutions around data ingestion, storage, and management, and architecting systems that are scalable and efficient. You will also mentor other developers, participate in sprint planning, and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, design, and develop services and solutions for large data ingestion, storage, and management.
- Run and maintain robust data pipelines and batch jobs in a production environment.
- Architect scalable, highly concurrent, and low-latency systems.
- Contribute to quality improvements for the codebase and mentor other developers.
- Collaborate with team members and third-party providers to support integrations.
- Participate in support rotations and advise on best practices.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Big Data.
- Proficiency in Functional Java or Scala.
- Experience with Azure Big Data/Analytics services (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory).
- Knowledge of storing data in systems such as Hadoop HDFS, ADLS, Event Hubs.
- Familiarity with the Hadoop technology ecosystem and distributed data stores.
- In-depth knowledge of IaaS/PaaS solutions and network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of Git and Unix-like operating systems (Linux, macOS).
Language Requirements:
