Position Responsibilities
- Lead the definition, planning, and documentation of digital work-flow strategies and data management on projects through collaboration with Project Digital Coordinators and interdisciplinary leaders.
- Identify and organize strategies specific to project scale in coordination with BIM Leads/Managers from other offices.
- Initiate BIM models and drawings in alignment with established standards.
- Support project teams in coordinating BIM models, process management, and objectives with other disciplines and consultants, aiding in the development and maintenance of Project LOD Matrices and BIM Management Plans.
- Mentor and support Project Digital Coordinators and team members in BIM model development, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Monitor and track the quality of BIM content and deliverables across all projects, ensuring continuity and consistency in quality.
- Collaborate with the Office of Technology Digital Practice Team to develop and implement standards, guidelines, and best practices for BIM and related project workflows.
- Conduct training sessions to promote BIM standards and workflows regularly; facilitate ongoing education among team members.
- Serve as the primary contact with BIM-related software vendors for technical support and facilitate a collaborative relationship with consultants and their BIM Managers.
- Manage tool development within the framework defined by the Office of Technology and document new knowledge for all users in the firm.
- Perform individual project work as needed.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Actively lead and mentor a team and engage in talent strategies to identify specialists and future professionals.
- Demonstrate leadership in implementing sustainable strategies across project assignments and staff development.
- Create and enhance new working methods while contributing to the development of services, standards, and procedures that safeguard the firm's financial and legal interests.
- Collaborate with BIM Leads across the firm to standardize design, modeling, and documentation practices.
- Develop and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, positioning the firm as a leader in BIM services and project delivery.
- Contribute to quality control initiatives and oversee training programs for BIM Technologists and Architects.
- Maintain communication with design teams to ensure collaboration and security in tools and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a professional degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in applying and developing digital tools in AEC project work, specifically with Revit for large-scale projects.
- Strong attention to detail, consistency in model-building, and proficiency in creating clear and consistent graphical styles.
- Proven ability to strategize and coordinate complex BIM models and deliverable package assembly.
- Excellent supervisory, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- General knowledge of architectural practice and concepts, including familiarity with building systems, engineering principles, and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of sustainable principles, with LEED or equivalent green building accreditation preferred.
- Proficiency in digital tools such as Revit, Dynamo, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and energy modeling tools, along with expertise in scripting and programming (Grasshopper, Rhino).
- Demonstrated ability to present technical concepts succinctly and create engaging visual communications.
