BIM Manager

About the Role
Join our innovative team as a BIM Manager or Assistant BIM Manager, where you will lead the end-to-end digital delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects across various sectors including infrastructure, transit, healthcare, commercial, and residential developments. You will be instrumental in defining and enforcing BIM processes and workflows aligned with global standards, ensuring high-quality, coordinated models that reduce site issues and support design coordination. This role serves as the central point of contact for all BIM and digital delivery matters, contributing strategic input to bids, tenders, and digital transformation initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing:

Strategy, Governance & Standards

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM and digital delivery strategies aligned with company and client objectives.
• Define BIM processes, workflows, and information management procedures in compliance with ISO 19650, BS 1192, and other applicable standards.
• Translate Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) into BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Model Production and Delivery Tables (MPDT), and project-specific protocols.
• Establish, document, and enforce modeling standards, templates, naming conventions, and data structures across disciplines.
• Set up and manage project BIM environments, including file structures and coordination procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and updating best practices.

Project Delivery & Coordination

• Oversee digital delivery on large, complex programs such as rail systems, hospitals, and commercial developments.
• Lead creation and management of coordinated, clash-free federated BIM models for all phases of projects.
• Organize and run model coordination and clash detection sessions using tools such as Autodesk Navisworks.
• Ensure all outputs comply with project BIM standards and client requirements.
• Interface closely with project managers and design teams to integrate BIM into design reviews.
• Support design optimization and reduction of site issues through robust digital coordination.
• Provide BIM leadership during both delivery and operational phases.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for all BIM-related queries.
• Represent the organization in BIM meetings and workshops with clients and partners.
• Coordinate onshore and offshore BIM teams for quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with GIS specialists for GIS–BIM integration.
• Support client engagement by explaining BIM strategies and digital deliverables.

Bids, Tenders & Business Support

• Provide BIM input into bids and tenders, including methodologies and resources.
• Develop bid-stage BIM strategies that respond to tender documents.
• Enhance win rates through effective communication of digital capabilities and case studies.

Quality Assurance, Compliance & Risk Management

• Establish and maintain QA/QC processes for models and digital deliverables.
• Implement model review/checking procedures to ensure compliance.
• Monitor and mitigate risks related to information management and data integrity.
• Ensure timely information exchanges via common data environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and ProjectWise.

Training, Mentoring & Team Development

• Assess training needs for BIM and digital delivery.
• Plan and deliver training sessions on BIM tools and workflows.
• Mentor BIM coordinators and engineers to build internal capacity.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and digital excellence across teams.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Bachelor of Architecture is preferred.
• Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP).
• Advanced qualification in BIM / Digital Delivery (e.g., Master’s in Global BIM Management).
• At least 8 years of BIM management experience (10+ years for the managerial role).
• Digital delivery experience in the AEC industry.
• Experience with large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Proven success in managing distributed BIM teams across multiple offices.
• Track record of implementing BIM standards and workflows.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, InfraWorks, Civil 3D, and SketchUp.
• Familiar with Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and model federation.
• Experience with common data environments and GIS–BIM integration.
