In a world of possibilities, the role of a BIM/CAD Modeler (Utilities) presents endless opportunities for professional growth and development. In this position, you will work closely with the BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure project compliance with established policies and processes, delivering exceptional engineering drawings and managing all BIM-related activities throughout the project lifecycle. Your contributions will be essential in collaborating with other disciplines and achieving timely completion of projects in Dubai, UAE.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure project compliance with established policies and processes, ensuring timely implementation and completion.
- Collaborate with BIM lead, Design Leads, and Engineers to develop engineering drawings, including arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details from rough sketches and general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Understand the BIM modeling process and manage all BIM-related activities from project startup to completion.
- Review each drawing for readability, presentation, and adherence to standards in accordance with the company QA/QC process.
- Create different types of parametric and non-parametric families, demonstrating good knowledge in content creation.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
- Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and model development tasks.
- Utilize Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and produce corresponding clash reports.
- Produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- A diploma or degree in civil engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of CAD drafting experience, specifically in wet and dry utilities projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D, and ACC BIM workflows.
- Strong knowledge of BIM processes and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
- Clear communication skills in English.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Preferred experience in the UAE and GCC regions.
- Familiarity with working within a Common Data Environment, particularly ProjectWise and BIM360.
- Experience with Navisworks.
