Job Description
We are looking for an amazingly talented BIM/CAD Technician to join our team in Dubai, UAE. In this role, you will perform basic to moderately-difficult design/drafting assignments, especially within the Storm Water Drainage team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
- Utilize a CAD workstation and work with BIM Lead, Design Leads, and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details from rough sketches and/or general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, ensuring timely implementation and completion.
- Understand the BIM modeling process and manage all BIM-related activities from project startup to project completion.
- Review each drawing for readability, presentation, and adherence to standards, in accordance with company QA/QC processes.
- Demonstrate good knowledge in content creation and be able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families.
- Hold strong knowledge of LOD requirements.
- Utilize Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and producing clash reports.
- Produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting experience in Wet Utilities projects.
- Experience with software such as Microstation, Autodesk Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
- Good knowledge in BIM, understanding LOD requirements and BIM processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Software experience with Navisworks is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and ACC.
