ABOUT THE ROLE
The post holder is responsible for delivering small powerboat training and Sea Sense Training (SST) to Royal Saudi Naval Forces’ (RSNF) Cadets/Trainees, ensuring a safe and professional training environment. This role requires working closely with the Senior Boat Instructor (SBI) to support the delivery of NTT’s training standards in accordance with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training syllabus and maintaining safety during operations.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Delivering NTT’s prescribed standards of instruction ashore and afloat in line with the RYA training syllabus.
- Supporting the SBI in delivering NTT’s Safety Charter, focusing on Cadets’/Trainees' health and safety during marina operations.
- Providing safety cover for all water users.
- Completing all relevant paperwork related to powerboat instruction and operations (e.g., lesson plans, risk assessments, maintenance logs, accident forms).
- Maintaining Marina and SST training equipment as well as Water Safety Equipment.
- Carrying out duties of Duty Marina Instructor (DMI) as required.
- Supporting Marina and SST activities in accordance with Marina SOPs/EOPs.
- Maintaining the MTF and SST swimming pool routines.
- Conducting safe jetty and davit operations.
- Supporting daily training for RSNF afloat and ashore.
- Handling emergency situations both afloat and ashore.
- Maintaining VHF communications during boat operations.
- Supporting equipment maintenance schedules for MTF and SST.
- Ensuring the safety of all Cadets/Trainees and employees under supervision.
- Instructing or assisting in delivering BST Seamanship, NST BM, and SST at the TINs and MTF.
The post holder will need to be highly motivated, adaptable, and flexible to operate in a complex technical environment, ensuring that NTT’s objectives are met with minimal supervision while upholding a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism. Additional reasonable requests aligning with company business may also be expected.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
- RYA powerboat instructor qualification or equivalent qualification/experience.
- FAW Level 3 First aid (On Job Training available, if not held).
- Demonstrable completion of an Instructional Techniques course, such as Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) or Defence Train the Trainer (DTTT) course.
- Competent and confident swimmer.
- Basic knowledge of seamanship.
- For Saudi National candidates, IELTS 5.0 Overall for delivery of classroom instruction and VHF communications while afloat.
Desirable
- RYA Sea Survival certificate or equivalent from other training bodies (Military, STCW 95, etc.).
- RYA SRC VHF Radio certificate.
