Your role as the BSS Solution & Integration Architect involves designing the end-to-end Business Support Systems (BSS) architecture and ensuring its successful implementation by the vendor. While the vendor delivers the solution, you will govern the design, validate implementation decisions, and ensure alignment with business objectives, enterprise architecture, and telecom industry standards. Acting as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and the vendor, you will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, supporting requirement clarification, solution validation, and system integration.
Responsibilities:
- Define the target BSS architecture in alignment with TM Forum standards (eTOM, SID, TAM) and enterprise architecture principles.
- Own the functional and technical design across core BSS domains, including Product Catalog & Commercial Offer Modeling, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Order Management & Fulfillment, Billing, Charging, and Revenue Management, and Customer Experience & Self-Care Platforms.
- Oversee and validate the vendor’s implementation to ensure compliance with the approved architecture and functional requirements.
- Act as the key technical interface with the vendor—reviewing deliverables, ensuring requirement traceability, and resolving design and integration issues.
- Design and govern integration between BSS and adjacent systems, including OSS, ERP, Payment Gateways, Regulatory Platforms, and Legacy Systems.
- Define data models, interfaces, and APIs using standards such as TM Forum Open APIs, REST/SOAP, and custom integrations where applicable.
- Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., tax handling, fingerprint validation, bill presentment).
- Prepare and maintain architectural documentation, traceability matrices, interface control documents, and system configuration records.
- Identify BSS-related risks, dependencies, and critical decisions impacting project timelines or go-live readiness.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep expertise in BSS domains: Product Catalog, CRM, Order Management, Billing & Charging.
- Solid understanding of telco commercial processes, customer journeys, and revenue management lifecycles.
- Experience with BSS platforms (e.g., Comarch, Amdocs, Netcracker, Ericsson, Oracle) and complex system landscapes.
- Proven ability to manage design governance and interface with vendors during large-scale implementations.
- Knowledge of TM Forum standards (eTOM, SID, Open APIs), ITIL, TOGAF.
- Familiarity with integration middleware, ERP systems (e.g., Finance, Asset Management), and digital channels.
- Strong skills in solution documentation, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional alignment.
