About the Role
Support customer Credit & Risk Excellence initiatives through business analysis, portfolio analytics, process assessment, policy enhancement, requirements definition, and implementation monitoring. You will play a crucial role in the development and operationalizing of RAROC methodologies, risk appetite frameworks, approval models, and credit process improvements across various sectors, products, business segments, and geographies. This position involves collaborating closely with Credit, Risk, Finance, Business, Technology, and country teams to translate business and risk requirements into structured analysis, documentation, reporting, and actionable implementation plans. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze portfolio performance, credit quality, profitability, capital utilization, concentration levels, and risk-adjusted returns across sectors, products, client segments, and geographies.
  • Support the development and application of RAROC methodologies and risk-adjusted performance measures for effective credit and portfolio decision-making.
  • Prepare portfolio analysis to identify opportunities around risk-adjusted profitability, capital efficiency, pricing discipline, and exposure allocation.
  • Assess financial and non-financial benefits derived from credit process, policy, risk appetite, and approval framework enhancements.
  • Track benefits realization, implementation milestones, KPIs, and transformation progress.
  • Produce management information reports on portfolio trends, capital consumption, credit quality, and risk-return performance.
  • Identify data anomalies, adverse trends, and variances from approved targets and escalate findings.
  • Support business cases through baseline data, assumptions, expected benefits, and outcome monitoring.
  • Implement KPIs and best practices for the Business Analyst, Credit & Risk Excellence role.
  • Promote cost consciousness, efficiency, productivity, and optimization of bank benefits.
  • Operate within delegated authority.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Finance, Corporate & Institutional Banking, Wholesale Banking, Technology, Operations, Strategy, and country teams to gather and validate requirements.
  • Provide analysis, process documentation, portfolio insights, dashboards, and status reporting to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate workshops, interviews, and working sessions covering current-state practices, pain points, controls, and future-state requirements.
  • Translate requirements into business requirements, process maps, functional specifications, data requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Address queries about portfolio analytics, process design, policy changes, implementation status, risk appetite monitoring, and approval workflows.
  • Maintain effective stakeholder relationships and facilitate resolution of gaps, data issues, process inconsistencies, and implementation dependencies.
  • Record stakeholder decisions, actions, dependencies, and outstanding matters.
  • Provide support to internal customers with credit process and risk framework queries.
  • Aim to improve turnaround times and provide timely and accurate information to Audit, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk, working within SLAs.
  • Document and assess current-state credit processes, approval workflows, roles, controls, service standards, systems, data flows, and governance arrangements.
  • Develop future-state process maps, procedures, business requirements, control requirements, and implementation documentation.
  • Identify redundancies, unnecessary handoffs, manual activities, control gaps, approval bottlenecks, and opportunities for standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of credit policies, underwriting standards, procedural guidance, and operating instructions.
  • Conduct gap analysis against target policies, processes, risk appetite requirements, and approval frameworks.
  • Aid in the development and testing of RAROC models, portfolio performance measures, calculation methodologies, assumptions, and management reports.
  • Analyze risk exposures across sector, product, client segment, rating, geography, and concentration.
  • Assist in defining risk appetite parameters, limits, thresholds, KRIs, and escalation triggers.
  • Support the review and redesign of credit approval matrices, delegated authorities, committee thresholds, escalation paths, and exception processes.
  • Track implementation across business units, functions, and geographies, maintaining action, issue, risk, dependency, and decision logs.
  • Provide support for UAT, implementation readiness, data validation, procedural updates, communications, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Develop dashboards and management reports that cover risk appetite utilization, policy exceptions, approval turnaround times, portfolio performance, concentration levels, and transformation progress.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and traceability.
  • Keep controlled and auditable records of requirements, processes, methodologies, assumptions, approvals, decisions, and implementation evidence.
  • Escalate significant issues, delays, data-quality concerns, control gaps, and deviations from approved requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned, stakeholder feedback, and practical enhancements.
  • Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, including AML & CTF, Sanctions, Data Protection, Fraud Control, Whistle Blowing, Conflict of Interest, and Insider Dealing policies.
  • Operate under the Three Lines of Defence principle.
  • Ensure positive client outcomes in accordance with the Conduct Risk Policy.
  • Support RCSA, KRI, incident reporting, remediation, and Operational Risk Management requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge and competence, complete mandatory training, and participate in required seminars.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in credit risk, banking, finance, data analytics, business analysis, process improvement, or project management are preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant banking experience, preferably with a highly rated international bank, with exposure to Credit Risk, Corporate Banking, Wholesale Banking, Risk Analytics, Credit Governance, or Business Analysis.
  • Experience in credit transformation, risk management, policy enhancement, process redesign, governance, portfolio analytics, credit risk reporting, management information, or RAROC-related analysis is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping, requirements gathering, procedure documentation, testing, implementation support, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic, including the ability to write reports effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, stakeholder coordination, and presentation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of banking laws, regulations, credit risk principles, and governance practices.
  • Good knowledge of Wholesale and Corporate Banking portfolios, products, credit processes, and approval structures.
  • Working knowledge of RAROC, risk-adjusted performance metrics, profitability analysis, capital consumption, and portfolio analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret credit, financial, portfolio, and risk data effectively.
  • Proficient in process mapping, business requirements gathering, and policy documentation.
  • Skilled in preparing business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, procedure documents, dashboards, and management reports.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, traceability, and version control.
  • Capable of identifying data-quality issues, process gaps, control weaknesses, and implementation risks.
  • Adept at making decisions within delegated authority and following through on initiatives.
  • Demonstrates strong integrity, accountability, self-management, planning, organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in relevant analytical, reporting, presentation, process-mapping, and project-documentation tools.

  • Salary: Up to QAR 25,000 per month
