Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirement workshops with business, Sharia, risk, finance, and operations stakeholders at Islamic banks and investment companies, documenting outcomes as functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
  • Translate Islamic product structures (Murabaha, Ijara, Mudaraba, Musharaka, Wakala, Sukuk, Islamic funds, and treasury) into system configuration and data requirements, including profit calculation, pool management, late payment treatment, and purification.
  • Map the end-to-end client lifecycle for Islamic private banking and asset management: onboarding, suitability, investment advisory, portfolio management, fund subscriptions and redemptions, Zakat, and reporting.
  • Own the functional aspects of implementation phases: analysis and design, build support, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, data migration validation, and training.
  • Produce essential artefacts such as gap analyses, traceability matrices, test scenarios, migration mapping sheets, user guides, and sign-off packs.
  • Collaborate with Sharia boards and internal Sharia audit to ensure proposed designs comply with approved structures and AAOIFI standards, maintaining a clear record of agreements.
  • Support proposals and client presentations with product knowledge, demonstrations, and effort estimates.
  • At the Senior Consultant level, oversee a workstream, mentor junior analysts, manage client relationships for your stream, and contribute to account growth.

Requirements

  • Five to eight years in business analysis or product roles in an Islamic bank, an Islamic window of a conventional bank, an Islamic investment company, or a consultancy catering to them.
  • Working knowledge of AAOIFI accounting and Sharia standards and familiarity with at least one GCC regulator’s Islamic banking framework (CBUAE, CBK, QCB, SAMA, or CMA).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one core banking or wealth platform implementation, such as Avaloq, Temenos T24 or Transact, Path Solutions iMAL, Oracle FLEXCUBE, or Finacle; experience with Avaloq is an advantage.
  • Strong documentation discipline, with a proven ability to produce requirements and test cases that are robust during UAT and client audit evaluations.
  • Proficient with data management tools, including SQL for validation, migration mapping, and reconciliation of positions and balances.
  • A proven track record of managing functional streams through UAT and go-live phases, with direct client stakeholder management.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within the GCC during workshops and testing phases.

Benefits

  • A central role in the company’s Middle East growth, where your contributions are visible to clients and partners from day one.
  • Exposure to the complete lifecycle of greenfield and replacement core banking programs, rather than being limited to a single module.
  • Structured professional development through the company Academy, Avaloq certification, and a career advisor model with transparent promotion criteria.
  • Competitive compensation package with DIFC employment, medical coverage, and relocation support where applicable.
