The company is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will engage in upstream digital transformation projects for a leading global energy client. Your primary focus will be on modernizing workflows, improving efficiency, and enabling data-driven decisions. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, designing workflows, ensuring governance compliance, and bridging the gap between business users and the development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with SMEs, engineers, and stakeholders to elicit and validate business requirements for upstream systems.
  • Translate functional needs into user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze and model current vs. target workflows for multiple integrated systems.
  • Define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data attributes.
  • Collaborate with client teams and act as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, and process diagrams.
  • Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Support UAT by defining scenarios, preparing test cases, and validating deliverables.
  • Manage change requests, identify risks, and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Oil & Gas, Energy, or large-scale IT transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of upstream processes, permitting, tie-in projects, technology approvals, and facilities shutdowns.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems, SAP integrations, and enterprise workflows.
  • Experience in business process modeling using BPMN/UML and tools such as ARIS.
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Fluent English communication skills (B2 level or higher).
  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid SCE (Saudi Council of Engineers) certificate (with IT-related discipline) is required for this position.

  • Exposure to enterprise applications (Java/Angular stack, Oracle DB).

Work Conditions: The usual working hours for full-time roles at the company in Saudi Arabia are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Working hours may vary based on client requirements, and flexibility is accommodated whenever possible.
