Key Responsibilities:
- Report Automation: Design, develop, and maintain SQL-driven ETL scripts to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into reporting tables.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Write optimized SQL queries to address business inquiries such as weekly sales trends, partner performance, and inventory health, presenting findings in clear, actionable formats.
- Dashboard Development: Utilize AWS QuickSight to create and iterate on interactive dashboards that track key metrics and alert stakeholders to performance shifts.
- Data Quality Checks: Implement data-validation routines and monitors to ensure report accuracy and flag upstream issues for resolution.
A Day in the Life:
- Begin your day by conducting a Data Health Check to review overnight ETL jobs and QuickSight dashboards for freshness and accuracy.
- Transform stakeholder questions into SQL queries for various analyses such as investigating delivery delays or inventory stockouts.
- Prototype new visualizations in AWS QuickSight, monitoring metrics like order cycle time and promotional uplift.
About The Team:
You will join the Amazon Fresh Grocery Partnerships & Amazon Now Analytics team, covering Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which is an agile, high-energy group with the mission of delivering fresh groceries and essentials to customers within 15–20 minutes. Your analyses will contribute directly to smoother fulfillment processes, improved customer satisfaction, and stronger partnerships across the GCC region.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience writing SQL queries against large datasets.
- Practical experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Amazon QuickSight.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data-quality issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical insights into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and collaborating with multiple teams (Operations, Product, Finance, and external partners).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic ETL concepts and data-pipeline maintenance.
- Experience in scripting with Python (or similar) for data transformations and workflow automation.
- Exposure to AWS data services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, or similar cloud-based solutions.
- Experience in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment (e-commerce, grocery, logistics, or rapid delivery).
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to juggle multiple priorities in an ambiguous setting.
Language Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
