The Business Application Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end support, configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of all enterprise business applications, excluding Oracle ERP and CRM platforms. This role serves as the primary point of contact for business users across all functions, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and effective utilization of the application portfolio. The incumbent will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, optimize processes, deliver user training, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate application enhancements and integrations to support efficient organizational operations.

Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day functional support and incident resolution for all business applications across the enterprise portfolio (excluding Oracle and CRM platforms), including but not limited to HRMS, document management, project management, asset management, HSE, procurement, and other operational systems.
- Act as the first point of contact for business users, triaging, diagnosing, and resolving application issues in a timely manner in accordance with agreed service levels.
- Conduct discovery sessions and workshops with department stakeholders to understand existing business workflows, pain points, and requirements across all supported application areas.
- Perform process mapping and gap analysis to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, or new application features.
- Document and maintain accurate business requirements, functional specifications, configuration guides, test scripts, and user manuals for all supported applications.
- Manage and execute application configuration, user setup, role-based access control, and system administration tasks across the supported application portfolio.
- Coordinate with application vendors and implementation partners for issue escalation, patch management, version upgrades, and platform roadmap alignment.
- Design, plan, and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) for new releases, enhancements, and integrations; track and resolve defects in collaboration with vendors and IT teams.
- Deliver structured end-user training programs, onboarding sessions, and knowledge base content to ensure high user adoption and effective application utilization.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure, security, and integration teams to ensure system performance, availability, security compliance, and seamless data exchange between applications.
- Monitor application health dashboards and proactively identify and mitigate risks to system stability or data integrity.
- Assist in evaluating new business applications and tools, preparing business cases, and supporting procurement and vendor selection processes.
- Maintain compliance with data governance, information security policies, and audit requirements across all managed application platforms.
- Support project delivery for application implementations, upgrades, and enhancements using structured project management and change management approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business application support, systems administration, or a related IT role, with hands-on experience supporting multiple enterprise applications across diverse business functions.
- Ability to understand, analyze, and document business requirements and map end-to-end business processes.
- Strong functional knowledge of standard business processes across HR, finance, procurement, operations, and asset management.
- Proven ability to configure, administer, and support diverse business applications and portals.
- Experience in coordinating with vendors and managing support escalations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
