Our Business Development teams play a critical role in expanding Gartner’s presence in the global market. Gartner Business Development Executives strategically acquire new clients by building trust-based relationships with C-level executives to understand their mission-critical priorities and uncover opportunities to deliver client value. They drive the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closure and transitioning new accounts to the account management team.

Business Development Executives are dedicated to building long-term client relationships, driven by results while being highly collaborative with account management teams to ensure an exceptional client experience. They will manage a territory of Large Enterprise prospects, which may include completely new prospects or clients within other Gartner areas. The clients within this territory have up to $1 billion in annual revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Seek out and drive new business opportunities with new-to-Gartner organizations across your territory, targeting Large Enterprise C-Level stakeholders.
  • Convert viable prospects into active Gartner clients, overseeing the full sales conversation and negotiation.
  • Align the right combination of insight, guidance, and practical tools to create value in partnerships.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to meet sales metrics and quotas.
  • Manage complex high-revenue sales across diverse business environments.
  • Own forecasting and account planning on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in complex, intangible sales environments.
  • Experience in business development or new client acquisition.
  • Proven track record in selling to or influencing C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and manage a complex sales process.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
