What You'll Be Doing:
- Establishes and maintains client contacts and develops sales strategies. Strengthens current business ties and coordinates meetings between clients/potential clients and technical or other key individuals.
- Keeps abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate.
- Conducts surveys to determine promising areas of development. Establishes and maintains numerous contacts within and outside the industry.
- Follows up in a timely manner on all possible leads.
- Develops proposals for services in response to invitations to bid, and provides guidance to the proposal team from inception to completion.
- Develops the pricing structure, as well as other contract terms and conditions.
- Negotiates contracts, including secrecy agreements and joint venture agreements.
- Acts as sponsor for foreign agent representatives; negotiates and maintains agent agreements.
- Acts as a sponsor during project execution.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent).
- 10-15+ years diversified experience, primarily within the business development realm of a large, multinational company (5-10 years in business development).
- Seasoned capture management professional.
- Experience in commercial bid management.
- Client relationship and interface management skills.
- A thorough understanding of proposal pricing, contract terminology, and negotiations with potential clients, as well as the company's policies and business objectives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation abilities.
- Exceptional ability to represent the company favorably, develop new clients, and negotiate with key members of other firms.
