Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.
- Work closely with business users to gather and analyze reporting requirements.
- Create and optimize data models (star schema, snowflake schema) within Power BI.
- Write efficient DAX queries and calculations to meet complex business reporting needs.
- Connect Power BI to a variety of data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, Azure, etc.) and ensure data reliability and refresh schedules.
- Implement row-level security and manage user access to Power BI datasets and reports.
- Maintain and support existing reports, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Document report specifications, technical design documents, and user manuals.
- Assist in building and maintaining a centralized data visualization and reporting framework.
- Stay updated on the latest Power BI features, best practices, and updates from Microsoft.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI development.
- Strong expertise in building and optimizing Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
- Solid understanding of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M language).
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and writing complex SQL queries.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business requirements into visual insights.
- Ability to explain technical details and concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Power BI Service features such as workspaces, apps, sharing, and subscriptions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other reporting and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL) is an advantage.
- Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., DA-100 / PL-300) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of R or Python for Power BI advanced analytics integrations.
