Position

The Amazon MENA CX Product team is seeking an analytical and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE. This full-time role is key in transforming disparate, raw data into actionable insights that enhance customers' ability to securely discover, evaluate, and purchase products and services across the Amazon store. The team is responsible for analytics throughout the customer shopping journey, from Search, Navigation, Homepage, and Detail Page, all the way to Checkout and order placement.

We are looking for a driven individual who enjoys working with BI tools and can conduct multiple large, complex, and business-critical analyses that inform product design and business priorities. This role will partner closely with Product teams, accessing and working with data from multiple sources, automating essential reports, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to address complex business challenges. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for data and analytics, be a self-starter, and be comfortable in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with business and finance customers to gather requirements and deliver comprehensive BI solutions.
  • Define the team's BI strategy.
  • Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
  • Continuously enhance reporting and processes to automate and simplify self-service support for customers.
  • Write high-quality code to retrieve and analyze large and complex data sets.
  • Identify patterns in data to make data-driven recommendations for topline growth and improved profitability.
  • Develop an understanding of key business metrics/KPIs and offer clear, compelling analysis to shape business direction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • Experience in programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.
  • Hands-on experience in the data/BI space.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to link data with business needs.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and presenting results to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
  • Scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Experience in data mining and ETL processes in a business environment involving large-scale, complex datasets.
