About the Role:
The Business Support Officer is responsible for overseeing the risk and control environment to ensure the mitigation of risks associated with business conduct, facilitating the smooth and effective running of business activities. This role involves supporting various functions within Community Banking, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and policies, and handling ad-hoc tasks. The officer will act as the main contact point between Community Banking and different support units, ensuring robust control and management of client transactions.

Key Accountabilities:
- Act as the primary contact between Community Banking and relevant departments such as RBCU, ORM, and Compliance.
- Ensure implementation of Group ORM policies and procedures within Community Banking.
- Support coverage and service team members in maintaining controls over client transactions.
- Assist in control testing, RCSA (risk and control self-assessment), and KRI (key risk indicators) scoring on the ORM system (GRC) for Community Banking.
- Manage complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Oversee and communicate various risk management tools used in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
- Analyze irregular cases for potential fraud attempts and act as an anti-fraud officer.
- Communicate with Ops Risk and other stakeholders regarding business issues, tracking metrics, caps, and KRIs.
- Review irregular client transactions to raise Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) to compliance.
- Oversee client fund movement reporting, guiding the team in addressing any irregularities.
- Review user access with ICD and report discrepancies, implementing necessary changes.
- Assist in managing the ODD MIS and follow up with teams for completion.
- Handle departmental MIS, which includes revenue, liability, performance, and reporting activities.
- Act as the primary representative for the department in various audits (CMAT reviews, Internal and External Audits, Sharia Audit, etc.).
- Assist in reviewing and updating SOPs and crafting new SOPs for newly adopted products/tasks.
- Responsible for business continuity management, including planning, testing, and call trees.
- Conduct Financial Crime Risk Assessment (FCRA) annually for IRQ & GCQ.
- Ensure adherence to consumer protection regulations during client interactions.
- Perform various ad-hoc tasks as required by business strategy.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong comprehension of corporate business needs.
- Risk and control thinking to protect the business while conducting activities.
- Strong writing skills for drafting SOPs and business documents.
- Knowledgeable about financial terms and quantitative tools related to performance.
- Ability to work independently with initiative and responsibility for completing duties.
- Discreet and trustworthy with a high degree of integrity and effective communication.
- Customer-centric and results-oriented approach, both internally and externally.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
Required Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience in governance, quality, and operational risk control environments.
- UAE-based experience is essential.
