This position is for a C-17 Support Equipment (SE) Technician to coordinate the maintenance and calibration of the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) Support Equipment in support of C-17 Field Services based at Al-Mubarak Air Base in Kuwait City. Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate C-17 SE maintenance requirements, planning, researching, developing, analyzing, and retrofitting repair solutions that comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Define procedures, special tooling, kit requirements, and work packages for inspections, modifications, improvement changes, and repairs of delivered products.
- Plan and coordinate modifications, maintenance, and repair of enterprise products, assisting engineering to incorporate improvements.
- Assist in project development, planning, implementation, management, and technical support activities related to SE maintenance, modifications, calibration, proof load tests, and repairs.
- Review and recommend projects and proposals for aircraft Support Equipment modification.
- Assist in moderately complex or multiple projects, develop, coordinate, and forecast requirements.
- Monitor project performance and risks, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain equipment and systems by removing, replacing, repairing, or upgrading components.
- Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components.
- Conduct complex functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment.
- Perform a variety of inspections required by equipment maintenance documents.
- Document maintenance and inspection actions as required.
- Assist in tool room processes and maintain knowledge of TCMAX or other tool control programs.
- Maintain database records for equipment status, spare part demands, and spare tool program.
- Train and resolve problems for less experienced technicians.
- Work under general direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- A minimum of 5 years experience maintaining aircraft support equipment.
- A minimum of 3 years experience maintaining Ground Support Equipment for the US Air Force and/or company aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Ability to troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components and conduct complex functional tests using appropriate test tools.
- Familiarity with USAF Technical Orders and Forms.
- Ability to operate forklift, crane, and other vehicles as required.
- Proficiency with database entry software systems and Microsoft operating systems, including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with documentation programs such as AFI 21-101, 00-20-1, etc.
Typical Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and typically 5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Relocation:
- This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
- Employment is subject to the candidate’s ability to satisfy all Kuwait labor and immigration formalities.
- Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of company U.S.-based payroll, commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with applicable Kuwait law.
