We are seeking a software developer to focus on dqlite, our distributed SQLite database powered by our proprietary Raft library for consensus and replication. Dqlite is available as a pure C library and through a Go package that we maintain, with plans for Python bindings in the future. You will design and implement enhancements to the libraft, dqlite, and go-dqlite components, which are integral to projects like MicroK8s and LXD. Your work will involve both development and addressing issues or inquiries from users. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement features across dqlite
- Debug and resolve issues encountered by users
- Enhance Jepsen tests, traditional HA database automated testing, and stress tests
- Participate in engineering processes through code and architectural review
- Engage with the open source community and commercial partners
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience with distributed systems (preferably with Raft)
- Proficient in C programming
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency patterns is a plus
- Quick learner of new systems and techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or similar degree
