Calypso Consultant

We have been engaged by a large Bank in the UAE to provide resources for their Calypso program. They are seeking Calypso Developers to join a larger team that includes other developers and a testing team. The role involves close collaboration with the internal back office and various teams to develop essential functionalities in-house.

Responsibilities:

• Work in Agile development teams to enhance the functionalities of the Calypso application.
• Support the Run the Bank/Change the Bank function for the Calypso platform.
• Assist with strategic initiatives to develop capabilities within the bank.
• Interact and liaise with teams across various geographic locations.
• Engage with Business and Operations users to address their queries.
• Initially work with the Production support team to understand the project landscape.

Mandatory Skills:

• 10 years of experience in the Calypso domain.
• 5-7 years of development experience specifically with Calypso (version 11).
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries and understanding Calypso database tables.
• Strong experience in Java.
• Good understanding of overall Calypso architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Calypso development and customizations such as Scheduled Tasks, Reports, and Engines.
• Understanding and application of Calypso APIs.
• Strong analytical skills for resolving production issues.
• Familiarity with Calypso's messaging and sender frameworks.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of Fixed Income Markets & Products.
• Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Basic understanding of UNIX servers and commands.
• Familiarity with back-office processes such as SWIFT messages, Settlements, CREs, Accounting, etc.
• Understanding of FX and Money Market products.
• Experience with tools like Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Azure DevOps, or other CI tools.
