In this position, you will conduct field investigations and engage with clients to define work scope and cost estimates specifically related to civil and structural aspects of projects. By leading design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews, you will ensure that the unique and complex requirements of civil and structural components are satisfied. Your role is critical in representing the Royal Commission and ensuring that the safety and quality standards of the project are maintained.
Project Overview:
You will be part of the Jubail project in Saudi Arabia, one of the company’s most remarkable achievements, requiring extensive resources and logistical planning. As part of the Saudi Arabian company, you will oversee various developments in Jubail and Ras Al-Khair Industrial Cities. This includes constructing residential communities, iconic buildings, schools, and infrastructure expansions. The role is based in Ras Al-Khair, approximately 100 kilometers north of Jubail Industrial City.
Daily commuting between Jubail and Ras Al-Khair is mandatory, using the available transportation or shuttle bus service. Accommodation is provided in Jubail Industrial City, along with complimentary breakfast and lunch for on-site workers. This position is designated as Single Status only.
Major Responsibilities:
- Represent the Royal Commission to ensure safety and quality standards are upheld for civil engineering discipline, reviewing work plans and design packages.
- Act as an interface between RC Engineering and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical guidance to Civil Engineers on the project and lead knowledge transfer efforts for national civil engineers.
- Coordinate and lead design reviews for Civil and Site Development along with utility designs prepared by architectural/engineering firms.
- Prepare design guidelines for various site development and infrastructure projects.
- Review site development designs for residential and commercial lots submitted by private investors.
- Oversee the review and update of guideline specifications related to site development.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (or equivalent) with 14-17 years of civil engineering experience, particularly in large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Significant hands-on design experience in earthworks, roads, utilities, and civil site development.
- Leadership experience in design review management across various civil projects, including substantial knowledge of industry-regulatory codes and standards.
- Experience in preparing design guidelines for residential, industrial, and commercial projects.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team of Civil Engineers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and relationships across all business levels.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and time management skills, with a track record of leading multi-disciplined design teams.
- Ability to understand and analyze urban development projects in both greenfield and brownfield sites.
