About the Role
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the entire engineering and maintenance operations within the organization. This role involves managing the engineering team, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, maintaining equipment and facilities, and implementing efficient operational practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering management, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of technical systems and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all engineering operations and maintenance activities.
• Lead and supervise the engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance of equipment and facilities.
• Manage budgets and control costs related to engineering and maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential problems.
• Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Develop and implement energy-saving strategies and sustainability initiatives.
• Prepare and present reports on engineering activities and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
• At least 5-7 years of experience in engineering management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
• Strong understanding of technical systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-saving strategies.
