Cisco Storage Engineer

About the Job:
Penta Consulting is a technology service provider and leading outsourced partner delivering professional and managed solutions across EMEA. As a Cisco Storage Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping client infrastructure by gathering technical requirements, designing custom SAN environments, and steering implementation plans that meet all objectives. You will validate new features in pre-production, troubleshoot issues onsite, and ensure smooth operations post-deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate technical workshops to assess current infrastructure and define solution needs.
• Architect and document SAN designs aligned with customer operations and support models.
• Support live environment testing and integration of new hardware, features, and fixes.
• Implement updates and patches, verifying functionality across platforms.

Your Expertise Includes:

• Deep experience with Cisco MDS switches (Brocade fabrics experience is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of SAN components—HBA, storage controllers, DWDM—and protocols: FC, SCSI, FCIP, NVMeOF, FSPF.
• Hands-on experience with storage arrays such as EMC, IBM, NetApp, and PureStorage.
• Familiarity with SAN software stacks, especially OS/hypervisor SCSI and MPI.
• Skilled in SAN troubleshooting from core network layers to endpoint devices.
• Proven ability to configure SAN zoning, VSANs, virtual fabrics, port channels, and IVR.
• Clear and concise communication and documentation skills for customer success.
• Experience with Cisco UCS hardware and DCNM/NDFC management tools.
• CCIE Datacenter certification highly desirable.
