About the Role
In this role, you will perform civil engineering design for various in-house projects, including earthworks, site grading, roads, paving, and drainage systems. You will also review contractor-generated civil designs to ensure safety, quality, compliance, and fitness for purpose. This position requires coordination with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project execution, providing technical guidance and support to fellow engineers and designers while mentoring junior civil engineers and designers. You will execute civil engineering activities for both greenfield and brownfield projects and prepare necessary documentation to support engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform civil engineering design for earthworks, site grading, roads, paving, and drainage systems.
- Review and verify contractor-generated civil designs for compliance and quality.
- Coordinate civil engineering activities across various engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers.
- Prepare design calculation reports and supporting engineering documentation.
- Develop Basis of Design documents, project specifications, and engineering standards.
- Prepare scopes of work for geotechnical investigations, topographical surveys, and underground utility scanning surveys.
- Review vendor drawings and conduct interdisciplinary squad checks.
- Participate in 3D model reviews using project review software.
- Prepare material take-offs and support project estimating activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local regulations, and project requirements.
Basic Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of Civil Engineering experience in earthworks, site grading, roads, paving, and drainage design, specifically within petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil, or gas industries.
- 5 to 7 years of experience with a recognized international FEED or EPC contractor.
- Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Design for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Site and construction experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of international design codes and standards such as AASHTO, ACI, API, ASTM, AWWA, NFPA, and PIP.
- Experience in earthwork design (rough grading and finish grading).
- Road and paving design experience, including road geometric design.
- Site development, fencing, and gate design experience.
- Knowledge of local regulations and standards like HCIS and Royal Commission requirements.
- Experience in stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer, and firewater drainage system design.
- Knowledge of contaminated drainage system and evaporation pond design.
- Proficiency in CivilStorm, SewerGEMS, or equivalent drainage design software.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, OpenRoads, or equivalent site grading software.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive engineering design calculation reports.
- Experience with project execution environments and review software such as Navisworks and SmartPlant Review (SPR).
- Capability to prepare material take-offs and conduct vendor drawing reviews.
- Strong communication, coordination, and team leadership skills.
