Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily site activities.
- Ensure work is conducted according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and manpower to meet project requirements.
- Verify completed work for quality and support project handover activities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: University Degree in Engineering / Post-graduate Degree.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in Structural Engineering; Senior Structural Engineer role requires a minimum of 15 years.
- Training: Familiarity with international standards such as BS, AISC, ACI, IBC, and AutoCAD.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Conversant with relevant structural design software, techniques, and codes (IBC, ACI, UBC, ASTM, AISC) according to local regulations.
- Ability to carry out structural design reviews, including dynamic seismic design and wind load assessments.
- Proficient in interpreting design drawings and documents.
- Licensed by Dubai Municipality (DM) for structural design review of unlimited height.
- Experience in discussing design review services with clients and authorities.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards, and site supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Technical Expertise
- Knowledgeable in types of foundations and soil excavations, concrete structures, precast/pre-stressed elements, steel structures, connections, and façade systems.
- Capability to work on:
- Specifications (concept studies, soil investigation reports, seismic reports)
- Foundations and seismic analysis, wind analysis, superstructure analysis.
- Supporting calculations and hand calculations for various structural components.
- Site inspections for quality assurance and control, issuing reports accordingly.
Self Management
- Comply with security guidelines and actively participate in knowledge sharing.
- Maintain a results-oriented, service-driven approach while ensuring personal efficiency and solving problems effectively.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Requirements
- Authorized to stop work if unsafe conditions arise.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements and HSE policies.
- Maintain work areas tidy; report hazards immediately.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is used and that all team members are trained in safety policies.
Performance Monitoring
- Participate in continual professional development through courses and professional readings.
- Maintain KPIs related to the delivery time and quality of reports, timely inspections, and client engagement.
