We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Architect with extensive expertise in AWS and familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP. This role is responsible for designing and enhancing our global cloud infrastructure, facilitating the migration from on-premises systems to cloud-native services, and ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design Rapyd’s cloud infrastructure, focusing primarily on AWS and supporting platforms.
- Lead cloud migration strategies transitioning from on-premises infrastructure.
- Define and implement AWS architecture, VPC designs, security controls, and shared services.
- Establish standards, reusable patterns, and governance for cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Application, and Security teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated operations.
- Drive cloud cost optimization and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements (e.g., SOC 2, PCI, ISO).
- Evaluate and integrate third-party services and cloud-native tools as necessary.
- Act as a technical advisor to leadership, providing architectural guidance for new initiatives.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including but not limited to VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, etc.
- Proficient in designing and leading cloud migration projects.
- Experience with other public clouds (Azure, GCP) in multi-cloud or hybrid settings.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform, GitOps/IaC workflows, and CI/CD toolchains.
- Understanding of security architecture, Zero Trust models, and encryption best practices.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms (EKS, ECS, or Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting to both executive and technical audiences.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Fintech, Payments, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with edge/cloud security patterns (Cloudflare, WAF, API Gateways).
- Experience with hybrid environments and Direct Connect/MPLS integration.
