About the Role
This role is responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities, serving as a key member of the agile development process. Responsibilities include building the continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline, prioritizing development items within the pipeline, and developing Proof-of-Concepts to evaluate the feasibility of software applications and tools for the development team. You will determine specifications and features for the next iteration of software application development based on user needs and feedback, continuously integrate code changes, and conduct automated testing to ensure the software application remains functional. Additionally, you will automate the deployment process and manage the releases of software application versions and features.

You will collaborate with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototype, architect, implement and/or update solutions, build and execute test plans, perform quality reviews, manage operations, and triage and fix operational issues. Working in a fast-paced environment, you must be able to adapt to constant business changes, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies. Proficiency in programming languages relevant to the organization, familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools, automated testing tools, and configuration management tools is essential. You will also need knowledge of crypto primitives, authentication protocols, and authorization standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine software application and feature enhancement requirements based on business needs and user feedback
- Gather, analyze, and document client needs and business requirements
- Formulate solutions, alternatives, and design specifications that support business and technical objectives
- Analyze client operations to understand strengths and weaknesses and uncover opportunities for improvement
- Translate business and technical requirements to test cases, test scenarios, and scripts
- Build IT solutions to meet business requirements and develop reusable components
- Develop program codes and logic for existing and/or new software applications and tools
- Develop requirements, methods, and procedures for routine maintenance
- Perform security vulnerability and relevant automated testing to ensure the software application remains functional
- Deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment
- Evaluate existing applications and platforms and propose recommendations for improving performance through gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications
- Document and complete knowledge transfer to production support
- Deliver tasks and design effective solutions to product features or small-scope engineering challenges in their area of the business/product
- Identify and address existing gaps in the observability and monitoring of systems and independently manage escalations for their squad or discipline
- Act as a trusted problem solver, capable of leading the resolution of critical bugs or incidents related to their work or area of expertise
- Perform any other duties assigned by line manager related to the nature of the work
- Enforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution
Years & Nature of Experience
- 3+ years of equivalent experience in DevOps
- An experienced professional capable of delivering on challenging technical tasks
- Self-sufficient and capable of handling small project responsibilities
- Previous experience providing technical supervision to junior staff
- Basic understanding of business and operating environment
- Experience and proficiency with specialized discipline
