About the Role
The role is responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. As a member of the agile development process, the individual will build the continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline, prioritize development items in the pipeline, and develop Proof-of-Concepts to evaluate the feasibility of software applications and tools for the development team. The role requires the development of suitable applications and tools while determining specifications and features for the next iteration of software application development based on user needs and feedback. Continuous integration and automated testing are key responsibilities to ensure software functionality.

Additionally, the individual will perform continuous deployment through automating the deployment process and manage the releases of software application versions and features. Collaboration with internal business partners is essential to gather requirements, prototype, architect, implement and/or update solutions, build and execute test plans, conduct quality reviews, manage operations, and triage fix operational issues. The role operates in a fast-paced environment that demands adaptability to constant business changes, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies. Proficiency in the required programming languages, familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools, relevant platforms, automated testing tools, and configuration management tools are essential. Knowledge of crypto primitives, authentication protocols, and authorization standards is also required.
Responsibilities
- Determine software application and feature enhancement requirements based on business needs and user feedback
- Gather, analyze, and document client needs and business requirements
- Formulate solutions, alternatives, and design specifications that support business and technical objectives
- Analyze client operations to understand strengths and weaknesses to uncover opportunities for improvement
- Translate business and technical requirements to test cases, test scenarios, and scripts
- Build IT solutions to meet business requirements and develop reusable components
- Develop program codes and logic for existing and/or new software applications and tools
- Develop requirements, methods, and procedures for routine maintenance
- Perform security vulnerability and relevant automated testing to ensure the software application remains functional
- Deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment
- Evaluate existing applications and platforms and propose recommendations for improving performance through gap analysis and alternative solutions
- Document and complete knowledge transfer to production support
- Deliver tasks and design effective solutions to product features or small-scope engineering challenges
- Identify and manage existing gaps in observability and monitoring of systems
- Lead resolution of critical bugs or incidents related to technical expertise
- Perform other duties assigned by the line manager related to the nature of the work
- Enforce and comply with information security policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, and personal due diligence within departmental activities
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution
Years & Nature of Experience
- 3+ years of equivalent experience in DevOps
- Experienced professional capable of delivering on complex technical tasks
- Self-sufficient and capable of managing small project responsibilities
- History of providing technical supervision to junior staff
- Basic understanding of the business and operating environment
- Proficient in specialized technical disciplines
