As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized cloud solutions. This role involves managing and supporting ticket queues for various clients while ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. You will escalate tasks to the appropriate task manager as necessary and leverage your expertise to deliver quality support in a client-facing role, acting as the voice of Rackspace within the customer experience. The position may require supporting a 24/7 environment with potential long-term or permanent shifts, and you will also be responsible for documenting cloud implementations.

Candidates ranging from fresh graduates to those with up to 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply. A basic understanding of major public clouds such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is necessary, along with strong communication skills.
In this role, you will help monitor cloud-based systems for various metrics such as availability, performance, reliability, and security using both cloud-native and external tools. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Shell, or Python, will be beneficial. You will also be involved in installing operating systems and application software in cloud environments and performing necessary updates.
A basic understanding of networking, including cloud network patterns such as Virtual Networks, subnets, peering, and firewalls, is also important. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in automation tools such as Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Ideally, candidates should possess a degree in a technology-related field or have equivalent industry experience.
