We are seeking a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead our BootStack team, which designs, builds, and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Linux and Cloud technologies, eager to advance their career while helping our customers effectively utilize Ubuntu and other open-source products.
Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, remote work environment with occasional travel (approximately 20% for team and company events, as well as customer meetings).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers to improve both the quality and velocity of development and operations.
- Identify and measure team health indicators.
- Implement disciplined engineering and operational processes.
- Represent the BootStack team to stakeholders, customers, and external teams.
- Ensure the team focuses on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Meet service level agreements for customer deployments globally.
- Deliver high-quality managed services consistently and in a timely manner.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technology-related field.
- Proven experience in software delivery using languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, Java, etc., and/or management of operational teams.
- Experience with OpenStack.
- Strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality.
- Familiarity with Linux system administration; knowledge of Ubuntu/Debian is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies.
- Ability to work in and manage distributed teams.
- Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies.
