As a Cloud Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, you will lead engineers who manage customer environments. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the quality and velocity of engineering and operations, measuring team health indicators, implementing disciplined processes, and maintaining focus on priorities and deliverables to meet service level agreements globally. You will be pivotal in delivering consistent and timely quality managed services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a growing engineering team to optimize quality and velocity.
- Identify and measure team health indicators.
- Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes.
- Represent the BootStack team in collaboration with stakeholders, customers, and external teams.
- Ensure team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Meet service level agreements on customer deployments worldwide.
- Deliver quality managed services consistently.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a technology field.
- Proven track record in software delivery using languages such as Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar, along with experience managing operations teams.
- Experience with OpenStack and a strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality.
- Familiarity with Linux system administration, especially Ubuntu/Debian.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies and managing distributed teams.
- Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems and cloud topologies.
- Willingness to travel for team and company events and customer meetings (approximately 20% or less).
