Engineering Managers should be outstanding engineers who are comfortable troubleshooting technical issues and conducting technical presales conversations. They contribute to project delivery and shape the team's direction, focus, and delivery. We prioritize developing management skills and training engineers interested in soft skills to become effective managers.
The Field Engineering team at the company consists of cloud solutions architects who collaborate directly with customers to design tailored cloud solutions. Our product portfolio includes on-premise cloud solutions like OpenStack, MicroCloud, and Ceph, as well as deployable solutions in public clouds such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, and PostgreSQL. The team engages hands-on by deploying, testing, and handing over solutions to support teams post-project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers across various experience levels in Presales and Professional Services.
- Solve customer problems by promoting our technologies and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
- Identify and measure team health indicators.
- Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Develop and advocate for strong engineering and organizational practices.
- Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
What We Are Looking For:
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.).
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Experience in technical presales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Passion for developing and growing people through strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
- Organized with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for company events and customer meetings.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Second language (Spanish or French preferred).
- Python knowledge.
- Experience collaborating with external partners and providing stakeholder feedback for engineering roadmaps.
