Virtusa is seeking a Cloud Lead Architect with over 13 years of experience in software architecture, solution design, and system engineering. The successful candidate will lead the architecture design for large-scale, complex projects ensuring alignment with business and technology strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and enforcing architecture principles, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborating with product management, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into architectural solutions.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools to meet solution needs.
- Driving cloud adoption, microservices architecture, and modern DevOps practices.
- Conducting architecture reviews, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.
- Mentoring and guiding junior architects, engineers, and technical leads.
- Engaging with external partners, vendors, and clients on architecture and solution discussions.
- Leading Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and innovation initiatives to explore new technologies.
- Documenting architecture artifacts, including diagrams, models, and technical specifications.
- Ensuring solutions are maintainable, extensible, and performant.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in software architecture, solution design, and system engineering.
- Proven experience as a Lead Architect or Principal Architect on enterprise-grade projects.
- Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, microservices, event-driven architecture, and SOA.
- Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Deep understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps culture.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages like Java, .NET, Python, or others.
- Strong knowledge of databases, both relational and NoSQL.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and collaborating with distributed teams.
Nice to Have:
- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns and middleware solutions.
- Knowledge of security standards and practices (e.g., OAuth, SAML, GDPR compliance).
- Familiarity with Big Data, AI/ML, or IoT architectures is a plus.
- Prior experience in leading architecture for SaaS or cloud-native platforms.
