We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platforms Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Infrastructure, Security, Application Runtime (Kubernetes), and Backing Services domains. In this leadership role, you will manage a team of platform engineers responsible for building and operating core platforms that ensure secure, scalable, and efficient delivery of applications. Your leadership will enhance platform reliability, security, and developer enablement throughout the organization.

Mozn is currently in a critical stage of scaling operations to build institutional analytics knowledge within the organization and across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Security Platform Ownership: Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure.

  • Security Integration: Embed security best practices across infrastructure while ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

  • Access & Governance: Manage IAM, network segmentation, and infrastructure hardening to protect critical environments.

  • Incident Response: Collaborate with Security and SRE teams for detecting and addressing security incidents proactively.

  • Application Runtime (Kubernetes):

    • Manage Kubernetes deployment, scaling, and operational management.
    • Maintain critical platform services for application teams such as Ingress, Service Mesh, Logging, and Monitoring.
    • Optimize availability and performance of application runtime environments.
    • Develop automation and self-service capabilities for developers interacting with Kubernetes.
  • Backing Services (Databases & Middleware):

    • Oversee shared backing services and drive their lifecycle management.
    • Standardize and automate the provisioning and maintenance of these data services.
    • Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of backing services.
    • Establish operational best practices and disaster recovery plans.
  • Leadership & Strategy:

    • Manage and mentor a high-performing cloud platforms team.
    • Collaborate with Product, Security, and Engineering teams to align platform capabilities.
    • Stay updated on cloud technology trends, evolving platform offerings.
    • Ensure comprehensive documentation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Experience:

    • 10+ years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure roles.
    • 3+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
    • Proven experience with production-grade Kubernetes environments and cloud-native applications.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (Helm, Operators, Service Mesh).
    • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.).
    • Familiarity with databases and middleware services (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ).
    • Knowledge of cloud security practices including IAM and network security.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
    • Ability to align technical strategy with business objectives.
    • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
