We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platforms Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Infrastructure, Security, Application Runtime (Kubernetes), and Backing Services domains. In this role, you will manage a team of platform engineers responsible for building and operating core platforms that enable secure, scalable, and efficient delivery of applications. Your leadership will be vital in driving platform reliability, security, and developer enablement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Security: Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure while embedding security best practices across infrastructure.
- Kubernetes Operations: Own the deployment, scaling, and management of Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments.
- Backing Services Management: Manage shared backing services (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.), ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing cloud platforms team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of cloud technology trends and continuously evolve platform offerings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 10+ years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure roles, with 3+ years in leadership positions managing platform/cloud teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud security practices, including IAM and network security.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to align technical strategy with business objectives.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is required; additional languages may be beneficial.
