About the Job
This is an opportunity to run a Professional Services team (also known as Field Engineering), helping customers understand and implement Canonical's open source solutions in public clouds and in their own data centers. The team works across the entire spectrum of cloud offerings, including Ubuntu, virtualisation, private cloud, Kubernetes, and sophisticated open source solutions such as MLOps platforms and data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, from graduate to senior levels.
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
- Identify and measure team health indicators.
- Implement disciplined engineering processes.
- Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Collaborate actively with the leadership team and other leaders.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies (Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph).
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Experience in technical presales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers.
- Organized and capable of ensuring timely, high-quality results.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
Preferred Skills:
- Second language (Spanish or French preferred).
- Python knowledge.
- Experience collaborating with external partners and internal teams for stakeholder feedback on engineering roadmaps.
