About the Job: This position offers the opportunity to lead a Professional Services team (Field Engineering) at Canonical, assisting customers in understanding and implementing Canonical's open source solutions in public clouds and their own data centers. The role encompasses a wide range of cloud offerings, including Ubuntu, virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, and sophisticated open source solutions like MLOps platforms and data platforms. As part of a rapidly expanding team delivering open source solutions across various industries, you will be responsible for managing engineers from various levels, contributing to project delivery, and guiding your team’s development. Successful candidates will have a solid engineering background and the ability to shape the direction and delivery of the team, while promoting management skills and soft skills among engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a diverse team of engineers, providing coaching and career development feedback.
- Work remotely within a single major time zone.
- Participate in technical presales to assist with departmental goals.
- Collaborate with other teams, contribute to project delivery, and represent the team to stakeholders and clients.
What We Are Looking For:
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph.
- Practical understanding of Linux and networking.
- Extensive experience in technical presales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven track record in developing and mentoring engineers.
- A strong organizational ability to ensure timely, high-quality results.
- Willingness to travel for company events and customer meetings.
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or French preferred).
- Basic knowledge of Python.
- Experience collaborating with external partners and providing stakeholder feedback.
