The position requires strong technical leadership capabilities, as the Cloud Professional Services Manager will not only oversee project delivery but will also engage in troubleshooting technical issues and participating in technical presales discussions. The role is critical as Canonical expands its range of open source solutions into various industries such as telecommunications, finance, healthcare, and media.
The Cloud Professional Services Manager is expected to foster engineering talent, represent the team technically, and collaborate effectively with other teams and customers. Additionally, the manager will take an active part in presales activities to align with department goals.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, from graduates to seniors.
- Work remotely maintaining a consistent presence in a specific time zone.
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
- Implement disciplined engineering processes and measure team health indicators.
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Develop and promote great engineering and organizational practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to manage project goals and progress.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cloud computing technologies such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph.
- Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
- Experience in technical presales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Passion for developing and mentoring engineers.
- Strong organizational skills to ensure timely, high-quality results.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% for internal events, tech conferences, and customer meetings.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish or French, is a plus.
