We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a focus on supporting our edge delivery and security platforms, reporting to our lead for this area. This role will involve proactively and reactively tackling delivery and security threats, while improving the overall capacity, performance, and security posture of our Internet-facing applications.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the CDN aspects of application and infrastructure services.
- Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and logging to enhance the observability maturity of the business.
- Participate in incident investigation and forensic analysis of complex application and infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and provide production support.
- Analyze emerging technologies and trial and adopt them as required, showcasing their business benefits.
- Collaborate with Security SMEs and other senior application architecture stakeholders to implement response, mitigation, and prevention strategies at the WAF layer.
- Review security findings, including penetration tests and bug bounty submissions.
- Participate in on-call rotation, responding to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related role.
- Experience with all aspects of Web & API workloads and underlying protocols.
- Preferred experience supporting API-focused, native mobile, and CMS applications.
- Proficiency in managing cloud CDN and WAF services, preferably Akamai.
- Strong understanding of TCP, DNS, TLS, HTTP, and other underpinning technologies.
- Experience implementing security best practices and governance standards such as PCI-DSS and OWASP.
- Experience implementing observable systems using a variety of APM tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
