Cloud Support Engineer

About the Job:

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, known for its platform, Ubuntu. We support the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will engage with customers to resolve complex issues related to Canonical's portfolio, ensuring each case is handled with the highest customer satisfaction in alignment with our Service Level Agreements (SLA).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Investigating and resolving issues reported by customers.
• Direct customer engagement through various communication channels.
• Contributing to and maintaining our knowledge base.
• Understanding the Ubuntu development process to manage customer expectations effectively.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, remote role with participation in a regular weekend working rotation; ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long.

What We Are Looking For:

• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
• Exceptional academic track record; an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.
• Hands-on experience supporting Linux systems, particularly with:
  • Virtualization/Cloud (KVM, OpenStack)
  • Containers (Docker, LXD/LXC, Kubernetes)
  • Storage technologies
  • Networking
  • Cloud computing expertise
• Advanced troubleshooting experience with Linux integration and application level bugs.
• Programming fundamentals in any language.
• Extensive customer support experience with a focus on clear and professional communication.
