Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Cloudera CDH / Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) clusters.
- Monitor cluster performance and ensure high availability of Hadoop services.
- Manage Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase, Impala, Spark, and Kafka.
- Perform cluster upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, performance, and data-related issues.
- Monitor cluster health using Cloudera Manager.
- Manage user access, security policies, and data governance.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and data replication strategies.
- Work closely with data engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams.
- Maintain documentation of system architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Provide 24/7 support when required for production environments.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Cloudera Manager and Hadoop administration.
- Hands-on experience with HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, and YARN.
- Knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Experience with cluster monitoring and performance tuning.
- Understanding of big data architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with Kerberos security and Hadoop authentication.
- Familiarity with data ingestion tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or scripting (Python, Bash).
- Understanding of DevOps practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in Hadoop / Cloudera administration.
- Cloudera certification is an added advantage.
