Position

Penta Consulting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CMDB Solutions Architect to lead the transformation of our client's Configuration Management Database (CMDB) into a robust, scalable, and integrated system within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus to support IT Service Management. This role requires on-site work in Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE, on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of the CMDB within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, aligning with ITIL v4 and organizational standards.
  • Review and assess current inventory lists; identify gaps/inconsistencies to be addressed in the implementation.
  • Define and implement improvements to CI classification, relationships, attributes, and lifecycle management.
  • Define and implement IT and Business Services; map CI relationships.
  • Collaborate with technical experts across infrastructure, networking, clinical apps and engineering, asset management, and Information Security to identify key data sources.
  • Integrate the CMDB with available network discovery tools to support automated discovery and CI updates.
  • Develop and maintain CMDB governance procedures, including data quality management, change control, and audit readiness.
  • Provide hands-on configuration and scripting within ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus as necessary.
  • Lead data cleansing and normalization efforts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of CIs.
  • Train and support training and documentation development for ongoing maintenance and sustainability.
  • Deliver a comprehensive handover and operational readiness documentation to sustain CMDB operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing a CMDB in ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus (mandatory).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Service Management, with at least 3 years focused on CMDB-related work.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices, especially Configuration Management, Asset Management, and Change Management.
  • Hands-on experience integrating CMDBs with discovery platforms/tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate technical requirements into effective CMDB configurations.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple technical and functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
