About the Job
Responsible for programming Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, and generating manufacturing documentation. Executes machining processes by studying work orders, blueprints, 3D models, wireframe models, engineering drawings, material specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters. Generates NC programs adhering to, and improving on, the internal machining strategy guidelines. Designs fixtures and jigs, generating their manufacturing information including CAD models, drawings of detailed parts, bill of materials, and NC programs. Develops machining strategies based on technical targets such as cycle time, machining cost, tool utilization, and tools standardization. Resolves technical problems to maximize process repeatability and minimize production costs. Prepares and modifies technical drawings, specifications, calculations, visual aids, and any other documentation for production instruction or fixture definition. Ensures full conformity of machine parts by analyzing measurement reports and manages revisions affecting quality and schedule. Proficient in using CAD/CAM software packages to produce 3D models and CNC programs, with the ability to read and produce engineering drawings according to various international standards, including a sound knowledge of GD&T. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Automotive, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • AS9100 and ISO quality standard certification desirable
  • PMP, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma certification are desirable
  • At least 5 years in the aerospace, automotive, or any other highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment implementing process improvement to enhance efficiency, eliminate waste, and reduce costs
  • Experience using CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX for both CAD and CAM applications
