Commissioning Specialist

About the Role
This position involves coordinating all resources and logistics necessary for performing services and maintenance activities on customers' sites or properties. These activities are essential for the upkeep, repair, and refurbishment of sold or existing products, encompassing all types of maintenance services (preventive and remedial), managing maintenance facilities, and field service engineering. You will be accountable for the quality of your work within a well-defined operational framework, following a sequential order of standard operational tasks to reach the desired results.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct all activities related to testing and validating equipment, facilities, or plants according to design objectives or specifications for operational use.
• Develop conceptual knowledge of the professional discipline, potentially including support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad areas.
• Utilize general knowledge of the business gained from education or past experience, understanding how the team's work contributes to the overall area.
• Resolve issues using established procedures and consult with supervisors or senior team members for matters outside of defined instructions.
• Collaborate with others to address issues, developing strong customer relationships for customer-facing roles and serving as the interface between customers and the organization. Exchange technical information, ask questions, and ensure understanding.
• Manage activities related to SAS commissioning on customer sites, including site mobilization and related management tasks.
• Bring experience in SAS systems and technical skills using PC, DSagile, and Aview software.
• Communicate effectively with Protection and Control systems as well as third-party IEDs integration.
• Obtain NG CSD approval for SAS activities.
• Ensure that customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements are determined, understood, and consistently met.
• Demonstrate EHS leadership and implement the Zero Deviation Plan within the team.
• Work effectively within an international company characterized by matrix organizations.
• Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions, and compliance rules, resolving any non-conformances promptly.
• Build robust relationships with GA customers and business stakeholders, including National Grid standards & qualifications, projects, operations teams, contractors, and system integrators.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Power, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in DCS/SAS systems.
• Proficient in debugging systems problems and identifying root causes of issues.
• Strong knowledge of IEC61850 protocol, Modbus, IEC101, IEC104, and IEC103.
• Ability to propose optimum technical solutions for projects, considering quality, cost, and delivery performance indicators.
• Ensure quality of DCS system architecture, system descriptions, and hardware specifications.
• Fluency in English.
