Position

As a Community Engineer, you will support community initiatives, engage with volunteer developers, and create successful tools within the Ubuntu community.

In this role, you will:

Utilize technical and organizational skills to integrate community plans with Canonical plans.
Encourage the creation of new technical projects to enhance community contributions.
Communicate effectively with developers and represent community interests within Canonical.
Provide content and support to keep the community engaged through blogs and social media.

This position is ideal for someone with a passion for open source software, Linux, and community building, likely fitting profiles with experience in DevOps, software development, or related fields.

Work Conditions: Full-time, remote work with potential travel (2 to 4 weeks for internal and external events).

Requirements:

Strong technical skills, particularly in Linux.
Experience in developer tools and open source projects.
Engagement with the Ubuntu community through various channels (AskUbuntu, IRC, etc.).
Ability to work autonomously and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills:

Experience with community management and developer advocacy.
Contributions to the Ubuntu Community and open source projects.
