The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions, including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, and reconciliations. Our mission is to ensure that users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms, including TikTok. We are seeking a Regional Compliance Officer to oversee and manage compliance initiatives in the MENA Region, ensuring that our payment products meet regulatory standards and requirements. This role requires extensive knowledge of MENA compliance regulations, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to collaborate across multiple departments and regions.

Responsibilities
- Leading ad hoc compliance projects related to the MENA Region as required
- Providing guidance, training, and ongoing support to employees on compliance matters
- Identifying and reviewing management information and data reports, performing trend analysis, and identifying risks
- Proactively managing financial and economic crime risks
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory engagement, channel partnerships, and legal and corporate governance functions
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of financial crime risk assessments in line with legal and regulatory requirements
- Capability to assess risk and control, highlight deficiencies, and recommend process improvements
- Prior management experience in leading compliance activity, including working with regulators, examiners, and auditors in the MENA Region
- Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the MENA Region
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of compliance management experience in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment, preferably managing payments, banking, or other financial services compliance programs in the MENA region
- Ability to prioritize effectively and identify key areas of improvement and implementation from a regulatory perspective
- Expertise in major MENA Region financial regulations and familiarity with regulatory regimes in the region
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively
- Proficiency in navigating complex regulatory environments across different jurisdictions
- Ability to deal with multiple regulatory domains (i.e., regulatory licensing, consumer protection, payments, BSA/AML/sanctions, privacy) and understand their interactions
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
