The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for establishing and implementing robust configuration management processes tailored to the unique requirements of UAV systems. This role involves developing configuration baselines, change control procedures, and version control strategies, as well as creating and maintaining comprehensive configuration documentation such as specifications, drawings, and engineering change orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish Configuration Management Processes: Develop processes that meet the unique needs of UAV systems.
  • Maintain Configuration Documentation: Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage Configuration Items: Control the lifecycle of configuration items from design to obsolescence management.
  • Facilitate Change Control: Administer the change control process for UAV configurations, evaluating requests and coordinating approvals.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production Teams: Collaborate with different teams to align design intent and manufacturing processes.
  • Configuration Status Accounting: Track the status of configuration items and generate necessary reports.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements within configuration management.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to teams on configuration management principles and processes.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 to 8 years of proven experience in configuration management within aerospace, defense, or UAV industries.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in configuration management software and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, CMIIC) is a plus.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English is required.
