Position

The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing robust configuration management processes tailored to the unique requirements of UAV systems. This role involves creating and maintaining comprehensive configuration documentation, including configuration baselines, specifications, drawings, and engineering change orders (ECOs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish Configuration Management Processes: Define configuration baselines, change control procedures, and version control strategies.
  • Manage Configuration Items: Identify and control configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and tracking.
  • Facilitate Change Control: Administer the change control process for all proposed changes to UAV configurations and ensure configuration integrity.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production Teams: Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to align design intent with manufacturing processes.
  • Configuration Status Accounting: Track and report the status of configuration items, generating reports to support project milestones and customer deliverables.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and EIA-649C.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in configuration management within the aerospace, defense, or UAV industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools (e.g., CMDB, PLM, PDM).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage complex configurations across multiple product lines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, CMIIC) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in managing the change control process, including documentation and approval tracking.
